2011 Photo Throwdown: Day 10

Spotted on the side of a bin at the Port Mann Bridge construction site. (iPhone – Jan. 10, 2011)

Ten days ago, friend and colleague Erin Loxam and I pledged to take and upload one photo every day for all of 2011. So far, so good. She asked me a few days ago how I’m finding it, and I said it’s less pressure than expected (though, of course, we’d only been a week in then.) A lover of photography, I often look for photos in my daily surroundings — noticing colour, contrast, composition — even when I have no intention of taking photos, and I’ve noticed that since this challenge began I’m doing it much more. I also like the fact that it forces me to blog at least once a day.

I guess the only real difficulty I’ve found so far is that on most days, I’m either at home or in the gym in the morning, then at work until late. I figure there are only so many photos I can take during this daily routine before things start getting really boring. (See: office banana.) Or am I just limiting myself? We’ll see.

As for Erin, she said she found she’s taking lots of shots overall — but I’ll leave her to tell you about it on her site.
