The most-watched YouTube videos of 2010

Last week I got an embargoed list of YouTube’s most-viewed videos of 2010 for a feature piece I’m working on. It won’t run until early January, but I’m happy to say I can post the lists now.

Globally, the most-watched YouTube videos were:

1. “Bed Intruder Song!” Note: When I looked at this two days ago, it had 46.5 million views. As I post this, it has 48 million. Yeesh.

2. TIK TOK KESHA Parody – Key of Awe$ome #13

3. Greyson Chance Singing Paparazzi

4. Annoying Orange Wazzup

5. Old Spice: The Man Your Man Could Smell Like

6. Yosemitebear Mountain Giant Double Rainbow 1-8-10

7. OK Go – This Too Shall Pass – Rube Goldberg Machine version

9. Jimmy Surprises Bieber Fan

10. Ken Block’s Gymkhana THREE, Part 2; Ultimate Playground; l’Autodrome

The most-viewed YouTube videos in Canada were:

1. “Bed Intruder Song!”

2. “‘Tik Tok’ Ke$ha Parody: Glitter Puke”

3. “Old Spice: The Man Your Man Could Smell Like”

4. “Giant Double Rainbow”

5. “Greyson Chance Singing ‘Paparazzi’”

7. “3-year-old crying over Justin Bieber”

8. “Classified – ‘Oh… Canada’”

9. “Tom Brokaw Explains Canada To Americans

10. “OK Go – This Too Shall Pass”

Of note: In February, the most-watched videos in Canada were Olympics-related. The most-searched term for the same month, globally, was “luge” — after Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili died in a horrific crash during a practice run, hours before the Olympics’ opening ceremony, at the Whistler Sliding Centre. RIP.
